I don’t know if anyone frequents my blog enough to notice these changes, but just in case you are out there (say hi, if you do!), I wanted to let you know that I’m planning on making some changes here to make life a bit easier for me, and to have some more creative freedom over the look of the blog.

Weekly Post Reduction

I’ve been very good at posting on here 6x a week since the beginning of this blog, but it’s started to be too much. I started this at the peak of the pandemic, while unemployed, and while transitioning out of my volunteer job. As we have adjusted to the pandemic, vaccines have come out, and social lives have returned and I have gone from a new employee to fully entrenched in a demanding job, I don’t have quite the same amount of time to devote to this each week, and I want to make sure that what I do put out is good content, and not filler content to make 6 posts each week.

So I will be going down 5 posts a week, Monday to Friday. The Saturday Scroll, will return to the Mid-Week Procrastination. I never want to get rid of that piece of content, it is so fun to make, is well received, and it gives me an excuse to consume all this content to make my round ups. I also think that there is more of a need for a round up during the week than on the weekends when Grace Atwood and I think Cup of Jo also do them, and Meghan Donovan does a smaller one on Fridays.

Transitioning to WordPress.org

I had no clue when I started this that there was a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If I had known I would have started on WordPress.org and have built my custom platform and learned to code it, but I didn’t know then and so I want to start working on that, it’s my summer goal I guess. So, at some point this summer, I would like to fully transition over to WordPress.org, and I’ll make sure to let you know when that happens!

I wasn’t planning on posting today as it is a holiday in Canada, but sometimes you just need to get some things off my chest.
